Pirate City Rollers Accepted as WFTDA Apprentice!

The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) announced on October 28, that Pirate City Rollers of Auckland New Zealand, have been accepted as an “Apprentice” affiliate of the WFTDA, the governing body for women’s amateur flat track roller derby.

As an Apprentice affiliate of the WFTDA, PCR joins the ranks of more than 100 all-female, skater-owned-and-operated leagues worldwide that have united to lead the growing sport of women’s flat track roller derby.

Become a Ref

Pirate City Rollers’ referee team, The Even Keels, is looking for guys and girls interested in refereeing roller derby to join them.

Just like freshmeat, they’ll teach you to skate, teach you the rules, and then get you confident at yelling at a pack of women! No refereeing experience required – all you need is a keen interest in learning the rules and the ability to blow a whistle.
Sign up to the freshmeat newsletter to find out more, or email our referee team.
